Black Diamond Launches iPad Application
~ New mobile platform will enable advisors to access portfolio management and performance reporting information anywhere, anytime
Jacksonville, FL. October 20, 2010. Black Diamond Performance ReportingTM announced today the availability of a new application specifically designed for Apple’s innovative iPad tablet computer.
“Our purpose at Black Diamond is to continue to innovate and provide advisors the technology and support that they need to be great,” said Reed Colley, CEO and Founder of Black Diamond. “The iPad and devices like it are a game changer for the wealth management industry. With our new extensible BlueSky platform, we are able to provide direct and easy access to Black Diamond via the iPad which will empower advisors to stay connected to their business and to tell their investment story to their clients and prospects outside of the office, anywhere, anytime.“
As a native application to the iPad the experience is optimized for the unique presentation and navigation capabilities of the iPad. Key features of the new application include an intuitive user interface optimized for iPad viewing and navigation, both in landscape and portrait orientation. Additionally, advisors can toggle between their defined “SkyView” dashboards, scroll through selected “SkyBoxes” of user configured information displays, and drill into data tables, charts and graphs for on-the-fly analysis. The iPad application automatically syncs with the personalized settings of each user from how they have set up their experience on the BlueSky web application.
The new Black Diamond application is available in the Apple App Store free of charge to Black Diamond clients and is easy to download and authenticate using Black Diamond’s security and credentialing process. “A driving motivation for launching our new BlueSky portfolio management and reporting platform is to provide a platform that is extensible to other environments. That includes mobile devices as well as integrating with other technology platforms from custodians and technology providers,” noted Colley.
Black Diamond will begin providing clients access to the new iPad application in early November 2010. During November and December of 2010 Black Diamond will also be offering an iPad to clients to adopt the new technology and to provide feedback on how the new tool fits with their practice. New clients and existing clients who renew their contract with Black Diamond will also be eligible for the offer.
“Our focus is on helping our clients optimize the value they receive from their partnership with Black Diamond. We are entering a new era in wealth management, driven by continual innovation and to succeed in this new era, advisors will need to adopt the latest technologies to better communicate with their clients, streamline their back-offices and build a scalable foundation for growth. With the release of our latest iPad application, we are excited to provide those capabilities to our clients,” concluded Colley.
Schwab IMPACT 2010
Black Diamond Performance Reporting will be demonstrating the new iPad application at the upcoming Schwab IMPACT conference to be held on October 26 – 29, 2010 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
